It is a good idea to always be prepared to defend yourself by coming up with options and a plan in case you are attacked. By practicing, you give yourself the opportunity and confidence to escape unharmed or to defend yourself against an attack.
Regardless of whether you carry a handgun or other self-defense tools, the goal of self-defense is to survive and escape without injury by deterring or stopping aggressive behavior. It is not to win a fight or harm another person. In fact, the best defense is to avoid dangerous people and places in the first place.
The first step is to always stay aware in being able to identify, process, and comprehend information to help you survive a crisis situation. Simply said, it’s knowing what is going on around you and being mentally prepared to respond to the situation.
In our defensive tactics training, the students will learn how to defend themselves from an attack using several proven joint manipulation and other control techniques. The student will also receive lifesaving situational awareness training that is necessary in our ever-changing, sometimes violent environment.
An active shooter is an individual who is engaged in killing, or attempting to kill, people in a confined and/or populated area. Active shooter incidents are often unpredictable and evolve quickly.
Amid the chaos, anyone can play an integral role in mitigating the impacts of an active shooter incident.
In many cases, there is no pattern or method to the selection of victims by an active shooter, and these situations are by their very nature unpredictable and can evolve quickly.
Because active shooter situations are often over within 10-15 minutes (before law enforcement arrive on the scene) individuals must be prepared both mentally and physically to deal with an active shooter situation.
You as an individual, as a business owner, or as a manager need to be prepared for you and your team.
In our active shooter evaluation, the client will receive an evaluation of their business location emergency action contingency plan. This will entail several stages of evaluation of security needs, evacuation routes, shelter in place plan, and fight or flight plan, to name a few.
